Hey there, I’m Julia. Thanks for popping by, I’m so glad you did.
I am an avid tea drinker, early riser, outdoor wanderer with a special place in my heart for animals and sustainability. I love practicing photography, I love exploring new places and I love learning new things- I’m currently getting very involved in making miniatures and trying to learn everything I can about them.
This is my story
I studied Chemical Engineering at university (don’t ask me why) and after graduating I found myself at a loose end and not too sure what to do. So, Dean, my boyfriend, and I decided to move to Korea to teach English for a year before entering the real world (sigh). We explored so many places and learnt so many new things- you can read about many of them here.
We also adopted our beautiful (half-eared) kitty Luna along the way. She is now lucky enough to be back in South Africa with us.
Now we are both back in South Africa-finishing off our studies- and not quite sure where life will take us.
When I lived in Korea I started a blog as a way for family and friends to keep up with our travels. I enjoyed blogging more than I thought I would so Handfuls of Moments as a place for me to continue my creative outlet.
Why Handfuls of Moments?
Well, Handfuls of Moments is a place for me to share a collection of special and ordinary moments in my day to day life; from tips about travel and getaways to diy, recipes and much more.
