High tea at The Cellars-Hohenort is something I have been meaning to do for ages, literally years. I’ve “tea’d” at places like The Vineyard Hotel and The Mount Nelson but somehow haven’t gotten around to the beautiful Cellars-Hohenort. So I never actually ended up going for tea (an excuse to go back), but on a chilly Freedom Day, Dean and I popped in for some lunch. We had both finished an essay and felt in need of a treat.
We went to The Conservatory where we both had sandwiches and scones. I also had the most delicious iced-tea. We sat on the veranda looking into the gardens and soaking up the wintery sun. We were also joined by some cute ducks who waddled amongst the guests.
When we were finished we took a stroll in the gardens. The gardens are really beautiful and feel kind of magical as you walk amongst the rose gardens and over rivers.
The hotel really is beautiful and I’m putting it on my list to go back for high tea and breakfast.
