It's shocking, I can't believe the last time I gave this blog any attention was last October. I promise to do better this year.
Time ran away towards the end of the year and things just got busy.
Last year ended on a good note though. I managed to go on a couple little holidays including 2 weekends away to Greyton and a short but wonderful trip up the East coast to Plett and St Francis Bay.
Greyton has got to be one of my favorite places. It's a picture perfect little village and so so pretty. I mean literally all the houses and the gardens are beautiful! I'm lucky to have a friend who has a family home there and have had the opportunity for some visits. If you haven't been to Greyton, you really should.
Unfortunately I couldn't really take leave over the Christmas period and gosh I really felt like I was missing out. Something about that time of year makes you feel like holidays.
I did manage to escape from work for 2 days and head up to Plett and St Francis to stay with Dean's family. Although we could only go for 4 nights, it was totally worth it. We had a really great time.
I'm trying to do more hiking and walks and I finally climbed Lions head with my cousin visiting from France. I know it's shocking that I've never actually climbed it, being a Capetonian and all, but previous attempts were abandoned due to crowds and bad weather (not an excuse I know). We were up early and it was a perfect day giving us the amazing views of Cape Town.
First time mushroom foraging and look at these guys. We found so many porcini, they made a great risotto.
Noordhoek peak is one of my favorites.
That's my little catch up for now. So it's a new year (can you believe we're are finished January?!) and while I'm not really one for resolutions I'm going to make an effort to blog regularly and of course do more living, creating, learning and exploring.
