Before we had even left to spend the long Easter weekend in Bonnievale, a 'town' along the Breede River, I was already planning a blog post in my head. I planned to write on all the different things in the area and places to visit. Well sadly that isn't going to happen as being Easter a lot of places were close for the weekend and so we were left (no complaints) just to check out some wine farms, do a lot of walking and just chill.
I will say though if you're keen on hiking/walking there are 2 places I'd recommend for sure. First, the Fish Eagle Trail at Van Louvren's wine farm was a tough (be warned) 8km trail up the mountain to give you a beautiful view of the valley. After the trail you can reward yourself with a delicious lunch at Christina's Bistro or even some wine tasting. Secondly, the Marloth Nature Reserve, just outside of Swellendam, offers some amazing hiking an mountain bike trails.
So instead of a lengthy post, some snaps from our weekend will have to do.
