Moving my blog over to Squarespace wasn't an easy decision but one I'm really glad I made. I've been using the platform for a couple of months now and I'm loving it and the experience so far.
Now, I'm far from a professional blogger but having blogged for about a year about my travels in Korea, I felt like I needed a change for my new blog, and Blogger just felt a bit too limiting and frustrating at times. Blogger was a great platform to start off with and get a grip with the blogging world. When I started thinking about my new blog I had actually set my sight on WordPress because I follow many great blogs that are through WordPress and they all look so good. I did so much research on Pinterest before I realized WordPress was not something I wanted to get into. It looked like it would be too much effort, involve too much coding (and having studied engineering I'm still no fan of coding) and I wanted easy! Squarespace has definitely solved those problems.
So why do I love Squarespace?
Super user friendly with its easy to use inter-face.
Like I said, one the the main things that attracted me to Squarespace is the ease of it! No coding necessary unless you really want to get fiddly. The interface is so self explanatory especially with the Style Editor, and it is "drag and drop" in case you want to move anything around. It is easy to add to your blog posts, photos, videos, social blocks, e-commerce options and more!
Looks great with minimal effort.
There are many gorgeous templates to choose from which are so versatile and can be tweaked and manipulated to perfectly suit your brand. And even if you don't want to do anything to the templates your site will still look amazing as the templates are all so modern, chic and neat. There are templates designed to suit anyone from bloggers, to restaurants, writers, photographers and designers.
A great thing about Squarespace is that you can get a 14 day trial where you can play around with the templates and find what suits you best. Plus you can change your template at any time! See here for a comparison of the different templates.
Easy to transfer with other blogs plus social integration.
Worried about losing your old blogging content, no problem! It's really easy to import your Blogger or Wordpress blog to Squarespace so you won't lose a thing.
It's easy to link your social accounts like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. Simply type in your details and it's done, no funny widgets needed. Plus you can automatically set your blogs to post to your social media.
Affordable and one price covers you for everything.
Another great thing about Squarespace is your subscription covers your hosting and your domain (but if your domain is registered somewhere else you can still link it). It's also so affordable and there are different packages to choose from, basic websites, cover pages or business sites. You also get a discount if paying annually. The price includes 24/7 support, unlimited storage and website metrics.
Comprehensive guides and videos to help you set up plus the community help pages.
Starting on any new platform can be overwhelming but Squarespace has a comprehensive library with videos that show you how to start off from square one. Almost anytime I want to look up something, I find it in the library. And if it's not in the library, chances are someone has asked your question and you can find the solution in the community forum.
